It’s Time. Let’s Go Hawks!

Anyone who knows me, knows that outside of my family, I have two favorite things. Salmon and Seahawks.

Everyone knows that I go ‘wild’ for Wild Alaskan Salmon; I’d eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I could! But as I was born and raised in the Seattle area, my other obsession is hardly unique.

I love the Seattle Seahawks, and, like you, I am ready for the 2017 season.

Seahawks 2017 at Duke’s

As you probably already know, our season opens on September 10th in Green Bay against the Packers. Yeah, those Packers. We really don’t like them very much, and that’s ok. They don’t like us either. It comes from a few years of total domination over the men in green and yellow.

I personally view the Seahawks-Packers matchup as one of the most underrated rivalries in football. These two teams are consistently leading their respective divisions and watching them face off is a great way to start the regular season.

The big game that everybody looks forward to, however, is the home-opener at CenturyLink Field. This year, the Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, September 17.

Every Seahawks fan knows about the rivalry between Seattle and San Francisco on the field. Our Hawks have taken nine out of the last ten meetings from our rivals from Santa Clara, and there is no reason to believe that our total domination of that storied franchise will continue. They may need to bring Steve Young out of retirement just to have a chance.

The rivalry really picked up steam in 2011 when coaches Pete Carroll and Jim Harbaugh both set about turning their respective teams into playoff contenders. Both acquired young, fast quarterbacks to lead the teams, and the results have been electrifying! When coach Harbaugh coined the phrase “Whose got it better than us?,” Russel Wilson responded with a Superbowl 50 victory over Denver. We do Jim. We have it better.

We’ve spent years perfecting this recipe, aiming for the best clam chowder you’ve ever tasted. According to our trophy room, we nailed it! Chowder pairs up perfectly with autumn and football season, and hits the spot on a cold, windy and wet Seattle Sunday.
